Hiking Trails

All of the hiking trails are directly accessible from the edge of the property and vary in difficulty level and length. Many of the summits can be reached within a 3 to 4 hour hike, though there are several picturesque sites along the way that can be a great stopping point for a shorter hike.

During the retreat we will go on 3 of the main trails as a group, and you will always have the option to take breaks, turn around, or break into smaller groups to hike at a different pace. You may also choose to remain at the retreat venue if you prefer to relax.

Yoga Classes

The sun rises around 8am and we'll be there to greet it daily with an energizing vinyasa yoga class. While these classes are fairly active, modifications are always offered so that all levels of practitioners find something suitable for their body. These classes will also aim to prepare your body for a day of hiking.

On some days we'll have an additional afternoon or evening yin yoga practice to release tension from our hikes and revitalize your body for further adventure.

Both styles will offer an opportunity to deepen your practice physically and spiritually.

Testimonials

Although this is the first edition of this particular retreat, here you can read what participants have said about other retreats I've hosted:

"You are a talented spirit on earth and a true class act. You put an enormous amount of thought and effort into making this an exceptional experience and it shows. Thank you for a magical journey!"

"This retreat was over the top fantastic and wonderful! I was 100% happy with my decision to do this after the second day, and only got happier each day following. You have set a high bar."

"A Very well-organized retreat. A lot of exciting activities were included. It was like opening a new present every day!"

"The retreat is in no small part a success because of YOU. It is one thing to be able to organize a trip for a small group of folks. That's a huge feat. What makes it REALLY special though is you- your bubbly personality, your laugh, your advice giving, your generosity, your whole investment of self. I really felt comfortable asking you about anything and loved every minute you gave us of your time. Very well done!!"

"The retreat was well organized, as all the details were thought out and there was a great balance of the events. Above all, I felt that you care about each participant (students, teachers, dancers) and that you put your heart into creating this unforgettable experience."

Freguently asked Questions

  • Do I have to have prior yoga experience to participate?
No. The yoga classes will be suitable for a variety of bodies with options for newbies and experienced practitioners alike. Modifications to more demanding poses will be offered. However, I do not recommend these classes to someone with serious injuries or if you require a completely personalized yoga class. If you are unsure whether the classes will be suitable for you please contact me.

  • Do I have to have prior hiking experience to participate?
No. However, many of the trails have quite a bit of uphill climbing so it may not be ideal for anyone with serious knee issues or other injuries that might prevent you from physical activity.

  • Will I be able to do the hikes even if I am not very athletic?
Yes. While the trails can be challenging if you don't exercise at all, there will be plenty of opportunities to take breaks and/or turn around and make it a shorter hike instead. For the ambitious soul wishing to reach the summits, I would recommend at least some moderate exercise prior to the retreat. However, athleticism is not everything. A determined mindset and some willpower can make a huge difference.

  • How do I get to the retreat venue?
If you are flying into Argentina from another country, most flights will take you into Buenos Aires EZEIZA airport, from which you'll take a 1 hour and a half flight to Bariloche airport. We will meet as a group at Bariloche airport, from which I will be arranging a shuttle bus to the town of El Bolsón. The Lodge staff will pick us up at the access point in a 4x4, which is the only way allowed into the property of the retreat venue as it is a rough mountain road not suitable for regular vehicles. This service as well as the shuttle to the airport will also be arranged for our departure day.

  • Will you be arranging our flights?
No. You will be responsible for booking your own flights to and from Argentina and Bariloche. I will assist you with recommendations and information about this. You will need to purchase a flight that arrives to Bariloche before the group shuttle service picks us up and leaves after the shuttle service drops us off. The cost of your flights is not included in the cost of the retreat.

  • Will there be any additional costs during the retreat?
The only additional and totally optional costs during the retreat would be if you want to schedule a massage, purchase alcoholic beverages during the meals provided by the venue, purchase any beer or additional snacks at the craft brewery, or book any of the additional adventure excursions such as horseback riding, mountain biking or rafting. Other than these options, everything else is already included in the cost of the retreat.

  • Can I stay longer or arrive earlier?
If the venue is not booked by another group before or after our retreat, you may extend your stay. However, you will have to arrange your own transportation. I can assist you with the options.

  • Can you give me suggestions for additional hiking in the area?
Yes! Part of my special, free bonus for retreat participants is an information session with recommendations for extending your stay and exploring Bariloche, an area that I have travelled and hiked extensively over the past few years.

  • What happens if my flight gets delayed?
If you are flying into Argentina from a different country I strongly recommend that you arrive to Buenos Aires prior to the retreat just in case any of your International flights are delayed. If your flight to Bariloche is delayed as well, we will assist you with booking a shuttle service from the Bariloche airport to the town of El Bolsón and arrange an individual pickup from the venue staff.

  • Will there be any tango on this retreat?
Although I will not be offering any tango classes during this retreat, there is a great floor in the lodge should you choose to bring your dance shoes for a little impromptu dancing. It's probable that there will be other tango dancers joining this retreat because I am hosting a tango retreat in Buenos Aires the week prior, with an incentivizing discount if you sign up for both. (Read more about this below). However, I guarantee you that your legs will be tired from the hiking and you will rather save your energy to take advantage of the nature surrounding you, and leave the dancing for Buenos Aires. If there is a lot of interest for a tango class, I'm happy to give one spontaneously.

  • Is Wifi available at the retreat venue?
Yes, there is Wifi at the retreat lodge, however it can be spotty and not very reliable so I would not count on it for anything important. I strongly recommend using this as an opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings and experience of connecting to yourself and others.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask!
